
Welcome! Solitaries of the Second Circle is a collaboration of solitary Wiccan practitioners who joined together to form a coven. Officially formed in August of 2004, the coven practices are truly eclectic. As a group, we practice with a blending knowledge and training from various traditions including Celtic Faerie Faith, traditional Wicca, Dance of the Spirit Moon Tradition, Family Wiccan Tradition, the Green Path and several others. As solitaries, each sister has the keys to her own individual spiritual path. As a group member, each sister is cherished for the unique wisdom and experience she brings. Solitaries of the Second Circle is not a hierarchal coven, having no High Priestess. Our members are as wide-ranged in knowledge, working experience and degrees as they are in beliefs. While many of the sisters pursue degrees through their individual practices outside the coven, within the coven all sisters are Priestesses and each is honored and celebrated equally for her contribution to the group. This coven is not a “teaching” coven offering group-organized mentoring or a degree system, but is definitely a “learning” coven. The sisters are committed to both lifelong learning and passing the secrets of the craft to others who wish to learn. Various sisters hold magical classes or workshops throughout the year to share their specialized knowledge with the group. In addition, there are numerous coven members who do private mentoring in magical studies in their specific traditions. The SSC meets for Sabbats, esbats, magical classes, coven care meetings, “stitch and bitch” craft nights, social events, community work and a host of other things. The magical family of the SSC is built upon the perfect love and perfect trust that each sister has for themselves, their coven, the craft and their community. The sisters of Solitaries of the Second Circle are also dedicated to the both the magical and non-magical community at large. The coven is very excited to be members of the Northern California Local Council of the Covenant of the Goddess (COG), and we are looking forward to the opportunities to dedicate our time and talents to helping our community that COG will provide. In addition, group members are individually dedicated various charitable organizations and community-based projects. The SSC is not concerned with membership numbers and does not actively outreach for members. It is a priority of the coven to keep the values of family and friendship above all else and in turn has a selective process to join.
